Notice:


Body is relaxed

Smooth rhythm is maintained

Arms are more or less straight

Arms move from the shoulder, not from the elbow

Torso moves from side to side

Body leans forward slightly

Arms reach back some way beyond the pelvis

Knees bend slightly

Long strides

Heels strike the ground, push off with toes

Poles are held loosely

Hands open at back and open at front of stride


Once you have been taught the correct techniques, check here from time to time to ensure that your technique conforms as closely as possible to this example and remember to keep your Technique Card in your pocket.
