Cyprus is an island country in the Eastern Mediterranean and the third largest island in the Mediterranean. It is a popular tourist destination although with our carefully-crafted routes, you will be able to enjoy the best of the island well away from the crowds.
Our walking holidays to Cyprus take you along paths with breathtaking views of land and sea. Undoubtedly the ridge along the Kyrenia Mountains in the North provides some of the most scenic hiking you are likely to find anywhere. The trail is punctuated along its length by panoramic views, crusader castles, ancient monasteries and scented pine forests.
Cyprus is a year-round destination apart from the summer months of June to September which are uncomfortably hot for walking. The best time for hiking is the spring, when skies are blue, the temperature is warm and balmy, the countryside a luxuriant green, and wild flowers carpet the ground. Cyprus is exceptionally mild in winter, the warmest in the Mediterranean, with the sun shining for an average of 6 hours daily between November and February. At times temperatures reach 16-18 degrees and you can even enjoy being outside in just a T-shirt and shorts.
Finally, the Cypriot people are warm and welcoming; nothing is too much trouble and they are unfailingly helpful. Such hospitality, along with outstanding scenery, climate and history, provide all the ingredients for a most memorable and enjoyable walking holiday.
